Today as I walked to my barn to feed the goats I took a moment to enjoy the signs of spring around the property. Daffodils are waving their yellow heads in delight of the spring rain that is lightly falling on them. The air has the sweet spring rain smell that only April seems to have. Green is pushing out through the ground and out of the wild honeysuckle that abounds around the property. I see a few dandelions starting to push out some blossoms which is something I can't wait for. Yes folks. Dandelions. The same plant that most people call a weed I am eagerly anticipating. Why you may ask? Because this year I am planning on finally trying my hand at some natural salves and the first of those will be dandelion, hopefully to be followed up with plantain and jewel weed. God and nature gives us so many things that we can harvest for our own good and this year I intend to get a piece of that. So keep an eye out for some salves to hit the webpage soon. Now, off to feed the animals... after I take a moment to pick up the 4 beautiful kittens curled up in my barn. Yes, spring has indeed sprung.
